I'm staying in Bangalore with my grandparents, rent agreement is in my grandfather's name, now i'm buying new car, for registration the dealer is asking for address proof. what proof can i provide? i don't have any proof of address in Bangalore as i'm here only for taking care. kindly suggest.
If you're buying a car in Bangalore but don't have your own address proof, you can use documents like a rental agreement in your grandfather's name, provided he is the homeowner. Other accepted forms of address proof include Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, passports, or utility bills. It's advisable to confirm with the dealer which specific documents they will accept to ensure a smooth registration process.

You can ask the dealer what type of proof would solve the purpose.
You can submit any of the following documents: Rental Agreement or Lease Agreement, Passport, Voter ID Card or Election Commission Photo ID Card, Ration Card, Aadhaar Card (UID), Permanent Driving License, Utility Bills (water, electricity, phone or gas bill) etc.

Yes. You can ask the dealer for which type of proof is wanted. The rent agreement will be executed between a family member of the family and the owner. So say to the dealer that rent agreement is on your grandfather's name. I think you have Aadhaar Card/voter card/pan card etc. So one of the proof is sufficient in my view.

Notarised Affidavit and rental receipt/proof with adhaar will suffice.

it is matter of procedure and not a legal query. You should hae consulted RTO office.
