Validity of Marriage Registration certificate

Hi,
I just want to know whether the validity of a marriage certificate registered in one state (Kerala) is valid in another state(Tamilnadu) for legal purposes.
Kindly clarify.

Marriage is marriage , even if not registered and both of you live together for good time it is presumed as marriage.
