Dear Sir/s
I am from Gujarat. We have a property (shop) which was bought by my grandfather (deceased) and is still in his name. My grandmother too has expired two years ago. They have 7 children (including my father). No will was made by my Grandfather. All the siblings of my father have consented to transfer this shop in the name of my father and they have no objection to it.
I would like to know What is the legal procedure of transferring this property to my father's name ?
Thanks & Regards
Paramjeet

Visit the o/o Authority under whose jurisdiction the property falls e.g. MC and obtain the process/procedure/forms for transfer of property. It may be simple and copy of death certificate/verification by Municipal Councilor/NOC by other legal heirs/newspaper publication may be sufficient. OR Legal heir certificate, relinquishment deed may be required.
If you are finding it difficult approach an able lawyer specializing in family/civil matters and well versed with local rules/laws.

Better get a family settlement / relinquishment deed executed and registered.
Approach the concerned Municipality to get the mutation done accordingly.

1) make deed of relinquishment favouring yr father n register it
2) if Soc formed submit to Soc
3) submit all transfer papers in Soc
4) if not get the mutation done
