Rti - first appeal

Kindly advice the following queries:

1. Is there any specific mode of dispatch of First appeal defined u/n the RTI act?

2. Can it be filed by registered post?

3. Whether fees is payable on filing of first appeal. If yes, amt. of fees.

better seek for the rules adopted by the concerned organisation in this regard.

a few authorities have prescribed format as well as fee for appeal but to the contrary some organisations have maintained informality and dont charge any fee for appeal.

may visit website of the concerned organisation to see the rules.

Hi tarun,

As per the RTI Act 2005 there is no specific mode of dispatch of first appeal.

As suggested correctly above by Kiran ji and Nanda ji you can look up for specifications if any mentioned in the website of the concerned organisation from where you seek the information.

With regard to fee, generally you dont have to pay any fee for first appeal but better again to check it in the concerned organisations site.

Hv checked with the RTI section of authority and i hv been informed that no fee is payable for appeal and the same can be disatched via Registered post.
