If a government authority fails to provide information requested under the RTI Act within the stipulated 30 days, or if the information provided is unsatisfactory, you have the right to appeal. The first appeal should be lodged with the next higher authority. While personal or confidential information may be legitimately denied with clear justification, other information must be supplied within the timeframe. If grounds for denial are not clearly stated or if the reply is incomplete, an appeal is the correct course of action.
