Resignation of membership from a co-op.housing society.

If a member of co operative housing society who has not borrowed loan from co operative society or from any other institution, wants to cease as a member of the co operative housing society, what will be procedure for the same. Kindly guide in this matter. Thanks.

A member can cease membership voluntarily by resignation, provided:
He/she has not taken any loan from the society or any institution on the strength of the society.
All society dues are cleared
The flat/interest is either transferred or otherwise disposed of legally.
The member must submit a written resignation letter addressed to:
The Secretary / Managing Committee
[Name of the Co-operative Housing Society]
The letter should clearly state:
Intention to resign from membership
Membership number
Flat number (if applicable)
Confirmation that no loan or society dues are pending.
(Resignation cannot be oral—written resignation is mandatory.)

The member has to submit resignation along with an undertaking to surrender original share certificate, pass book with any other document(s) / equipment(s) / assets of the society.
