Registration of flat owners association

We are residing in an apartment in Tamil Nadu and we have registered the association five years back. After that the Committee members have not renewed the regn. every year. Now what is the procedure, whether to renew or to register as a new association. Kindly clarify.

The flat owner's welfare associations will be registered under the Societies Registration Act but the rules are different from one state to another state. You have to submit valid reasons for the delay in filing of minutes of the association every year and pay penality if any to the Registrar of Societies of the District. Then maybe approved.

There is no need to renew registration but to submit annual reports, conduct elections of managing committee and proceed as provided in Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association.
