Registration of development agreement

Dear Experts,

My client had signed development agreement in 2001 which had been notarised by notary .

Was it compulsory to register the development agreement in year 2001 in maharashtra

Whether this documet has locus standi in court.

At that time it was not necessary to get the agreement registered with the registrar so the notarized agreement of that time is valid.
