Quashing of FIR

Sir,
1. FIR of torture, dowry, attempted to murder was filed by my daughter in law and witnesses I were her father and mother inhe lower courta gainst four members of my family has been quashed by High court .
2. Can we file suit of defamation against my daughter in law and witnesses?

If the charges are quashed then the said accused persons can very well file suit for damages on the ground of malicious prosecution.
Filing defamation suit is surely an option .

2. Whether there is "some" mediation , compromise or any other proceedings were the basis for quashing of FIR; is more relevant and important to know before forming an opinion with respect to your query and suggesting you for moving against the action of daughter-in-law.
