Purchasing of scheduled caste land

(Querist) 07 September 2023 This query is : Resolved
Can a scheduled tribe person buy a land from scheduled caste in Odisha?
Does it require any special permission from sub collector or DM??
Quick Summary
In Odisha, a Scheduled Tribe person can purchase land from a Scheduled Caste individual, but it requires prior written permission from the Government or District Collector. Without this approval, the sale transaction will be considered void. The Revenue Officer will only grant permission if a willing Scheduled Tribe buyer at market price isn't available, or for gifts if the bonafides are established.
