Sir,

I am a widow lady and my father in law having a single own house , where i lived with my my two sons. Now, My father in law wants to sold this house. Please tell me that can my father in law give me(daughter in law) money as gift after coming selling the property or not.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 31 May 2011
Yes, if he wishes then he can gift you.
Since you are a widow and provided you are home bound then if your father in law defaults to take care of your maintenance you can file a suit for maintenance against him.
Once that is done any default to provide the maintenance would created charge upon the property and he would thereby be restrained to make any sort of its transfer

Yes. If he wish to give any share mean he can.. Since that property is his self acquired, he may give you or may not give you. You can't claim it..
