Procedure for executing power of attorney outside india

Dear Friends,
A friend of mine currently living abroad, intends to appoint an attorney to file a civil suit against a property developer in Bangalore.
Please advise the procedure to be followed to execute the power of attorney abroad along with value of stamp paper required for the POA.

get power of attorney drafted by your lawyer . your friend has to sign the same before Indian consulate abroad . it has to be attested before indian consulate . stamp paper would depend upon karnataka stamp act .

I add something more in the advice of Ajay. After attestation of that GPA by Indian High Commission/consulate/embassy situated in that country, the same document is required to be got registered with the registrar of that area wherein such property is situated and only thereafter the document shall become a valid GPA.
