What is the legal position of a society. I mean to say is it an AOP, BOI or any other authority. I have to mention the legal position of the society on PAN application.

IT is SOCIETY is itself legal entity. therefore, Income Tax Recognize it SOCIETY as an Artificial/legal person.

Status of cooperative society is AOP or BOP and ITR return V need to be filed. For reference visit:

I agree with experts, however, what is AOP & BOP?
CHS is a separate legal entity and ITR is filed separately.
