Not returning monry

(Querist) 08 January 2015 This query is : Resolved
Sir,
July-2012, I gave Rs.10000/ cash to one of my colleague in need. We both were worked in MNC. I Asked him money several times, he said he'll deposit. Last year i moved to another company. After that i made several calls and messages to him but he never responded. When i called at the office number he gave me several excuses and those were not true. He once told me via whats app "don't worry I'll deposit". Now, he is saying that he never took money from me, he's still working in the same company. I don't know his address. He knows if i visit to the police they won't take action seriously for small amount or they'll ask me to come again and again. Even if i visit to the lawyers i need to pay big amount. What should i supposed to do? Should i call Police? Lawyer? Only evidence is whatsapp message.

your expenses for recovery of rs 10,000 would be more than amount sought to be recovered . you can issue legal notice if you so desire

Are you and your colleague in the same place? If so, you may make a petition before the Lok Adalat.

It will be difficult to recover money from him if you do not have any documentary proof for having lent the amount. Consult a local lawyer and first issue a legal demand notice, wait for the response and then decide further course of action.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. My problem was resolved. I called my Company's HR and told them everything. My HR asked me to send mail and promised me that the management will do best to resolve this issue. The very next day my old colleague called me and said he's ready to make payment and he transferred money into my account.
