Non compliance of judgement

(Querist) 19 June 2018 This query is : Resolved
What are the consequences if the defendants refuse to comply with judgement pronounced and what is the meaning of judgement reserved will the judge pronounce the judgement in next sitting ,our matter posted to 15-8-2018 which happens to be a national holiday please suggest what may happen in the above context
K Rajasekharan (Expert) 19 June 2018
If a party in a case fails to comply with the decision, the court has unfettered powers to implement the decision in legal means stipulated in the statutes including putting him in jail.

A judgement is reserved means after the hearing of a case the judge is not going to deliver the judgment immediately, instead he will take time to review the evidence, refer the case laws and deliver a decision at a later, mostly pre-fixed date.

The posting of the case on a national holiday is just an error and the court will neither function on the day nor deliver any judgement.

If defendant does not comply the judgement then you have to file execution proceedings before the court. The judgement reserve means judgement will be delivered after some time. Court may not pronounce the judgement on 15.08.18 due to holiday however the case will be on next working day's board. So on next date judge may pass judgement.
