(Querist) 19 January 2016 This query is : Resolved
I mother in law(widow) aged 64 is a retd. teacher in Goa. She lost her son last year.
Her son owned a factory and few properties in Goa. Does she have any right in her sons properties.

Yes Please. Why this Query after a Period of One Year of demise of the Son.Better Consult a Local Good Advocate.Even if the Son was Married Mother would get a Share.
Manoj Choudhary (Expert) 19 January 2016
If the whereabouts of any missing person are not known to anyone for 7 years it is considered as death. If the son is married then his wife share equally to the mother. If the person want to sell the property they have to take permission from the court on merits
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 19 January 2016
The property of son devolves on his death upon his legal heirs which include his widow, if any, mother and children.
So in your case you are the inheritor of the property of your son in share depending upon the legal heirs he left behind.

Pl. clarify your status . You are mother or mother in law of the deceased you are talking about. If you are the mother, what the Expert Mr. Barman has advised fits your query .

Mr. Sanjay,

It seems your query is purely an academic query.

If not academic, what do you mean by 'I' in the sentence starting with "I mother in law(widow)"?

Also, how and whith whose mother in law and her son you are concerned with the case?
K.S.Srinivas (Expert) 29 January 2016
It is not clear from the query about the status - whether mother or mother-in-law.

You need to be the querist or approved LAWyersclub expert to take part in this query .
