We have 4.5 acres of land to be distributed among 3 brothers. What is the procedure to legally acquire the land among us ?
How much time it will take.
because elder brother already acquired 2 acres instead of 1.5 acres.

U have not mentioned what kind of property it is, whether ancestral or self acquired by the father? If U want to get it distributed by muslim law, U have to state whether U are a Shia or a Sunni.How did UR elder brother acquire 2 acres without actual division?

It is not ancestral.it is self earned by father.

There is no such terms as ancestral property in Muslim law of inheritance. Whether your father is alive?, whether you have sisters either married or unmarried?, whether your mom is alive?, whether the property was left behind on Will in all three favor? Muslim personal law will govern the partition issue, you may consult a local lawyer with relevant papers/documents.
