Motor vehicle accident

(Querist) 06 February 2024 This query is : Resolved
I was charged under ipc sec 279 &338 for an accident case.. If I plead guilty and paid fine for the case does that effect my police clearence certificate and visa process
Quick Summary
If you've been charged under IPC sections 279 and 338 for a motor vehicle accident, pleading guilty and paying a fine might impact your Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) and subsequent visa process. While minor traffic offences involving negligence, especially those resulting in grievous injuries, can sometimes be settled without significant career repercussions, they are still criminal cases. This means they will likely appear on your PCC, potentially creating an adverse reflection.

It may affect.

Generally, it does not affect the career of an employee since it does not involve any moral turpitude and you have been charged/ convicted/ sentenced with the offence(s) of rash and negligent driving and the victim suffered grievous injuries. Such traffic offences could be settled by pleading guilty; there need not be an adverse impact on the job or prospects of future employment.

It is a criminal case hence it will certainly reflect in the police clearance certificate/report having an adverse impact.
