These are the provisions of water supply bye-laws.

According to bye-laws following action shall be taken against the consumers, if found indulging in any of the acts
1. On first violation, a notice shall be served on the defaulting consumers for getting the defects/faults rectified within a period of 24 hours of the issue of notice.

2. On detecting a violation for the second time, a fine/penalty amounting to Rs. 500 shall be imposed, which shall be recovered through regular water supply charges bills. Any material like booster pump, hose pipe etc. being used by the defaulter shall be consfiscated.

3. On finding a violation for 3rd time, the water connection shall be disconnected immediately without any further notice.

Yes ! Misuse of Water is liable for penalties and for repeated misuse the connection will be removed ! Water Supply bey laws /rules-local bodies!

in Punjab we have Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, u c the local laws of Haryana.

if its a commercial entity then make reference to environmental laws as well.
