If you wish to suspend your practice as an advocate, you don't need to surrender a physical license. Instead, submit an intimation letter to the Bar Council where you are enrolled, stating your intention to suspend practice. To retrieve original certificates, such as your LLB degree, which the council may hold for verification, you'll need to write to the Delhi Bar Council with an application for their deposit, confirming you won't continue practice. Once verification is complete, these will be returned. You can later revoke your suspension by submitting another letter.
