Legal right of women in ancestral property

(Querist) 30 June 2012 This query is : Resolved
My grand father, father, and father's brother is living in ancestral property which was bought by the great grand father which died in 1982.
1. Is this property ancestral or personal?
2. is my grand father's daughter entitled to share in that property when she is not living there?
3. is there any link between the time of her marriage and share in inherited property? my grand father's daughter got married before 1987.

Thanx for all the replies.
Another query,

The grand father's ancestral property will be divided between two sons and one daughter.
The daughter is not interested in its share of the property and would like her share to be given to the eldest son. what documents would be required for it? also, she would not like the younger son to know about it.
is it possible? what are the legal requirements?
SAINATH DEVALLA (Expert) 01 July 2012
Ask her to give a relinquishment deed (duly registered) to forego her share.
ishaan sharma (Querist) 01 July 2012
The relinquishment deed can be filled and registered before the division of share of the ancestral property?
