Though limitation told is correct but that is not the practical way to go with is my warning otherwise many difficulties of revenue entries may come before as lekhpals often do manipulations in collusion with interested people. The right way of seeking mutation is that one's you finish cremation ceremonials take the death certificate and file mutation then and there as early as possible and take khasara record every year so that you may check your possession is being recorded regularly without bungling by lekhpal[village record keeper]
