Laws relating to Domestic Warehouse?

My Dear Seniors,

Let me know the procedure for opening / operating domestic warehouse for domestic Business purpose. What are all the registration requirement? Also send me check list, if possible.

Just start and do it. You have to bother about the legal status of your organisation only no further approvals needed.

For establishment of warehousing business, you have to register youreslf under the "Warehousing (Developmetn and Regulation) Act, 2007. This Act came into force on 01-03-2009 and is meant to encourage and regulate establishment of ware houses in private sector. The registration has to be done with the "Warehousing Development & Regulation Authority" established under the Act. The Authority has its Head Office at New Delhi and has Offices in each state. Registartion confers several staturoy benefits and rights on the owner of the warehouse such as the receipts issued by it are regarded as title deeds for the goods deposited in the warehouse and are negotiable as Railway receipts are.
