One person took Standard Fire and special perils policy (material damage) from New India Assurance co. In that policy, there are some exclusions for damamges from loss by fire. Under it, there is one clause reads as - Bush fire - excluding loss, destruction or damage caused by Forest Fire.
Fire took place in the place and heavy loss occured. The Insurance Co. made survey and rejected claim stating that the fire was Forest Fire. The place insured is not near forest. Material of paints, plastic, boards and wooden articles used for painting works lost in fire.
In the policy statement, there is no defination of forest fire. Therefore, I am asking about defination or ingradients of "Forest Fire".

"Wild Fire" is the term applied to any unwanted and unplanned fire burning in forest, shrub or grass.
This is the definition accepted by General Insurance Companies in India and the same is not applicable in your case so repudiation of claim by insurance company is an illegal act which should be challenged by you in consumer forum. Lodge FIR, Get survey/assessment of losses from renowned expert and then move ahead.
