Inclusion of a joint owner

A mother,aged about 75 years and the owner of a house wants to include the name of her son as a joint owner in the property documents.

What is the procedure to be followed? Are there any implications of stamp duty in this matter?

She will have to gift a part of the property in the name of her son. It requires registration of the deed on payment of stamp duty.
