Inacome tax payment

dear sir am working railways on 10.3.2014 my personnal branch issued on letter to pay outstanding income tax Rs 9262/- for the year 2013-2014 in precribed IT challan.the TAN of Sr.DFM,BLRS14403E should invariably be quoted in challan along with your pan.
here am in confusion which Form i have to fill 280 or 281 please confirm

It is 280 as you are paying. It is 281 if your employer pays.

Challan 280:To deposit self assessment tax ,advance tax and tax demand on regular assessment etc.

Challan 281:To deposit tax deducted at source(TDS)

However, you can confirm from the department before filing the tax.
