IB input in Media regarding threat to our PM

(Querist) 17 December 2010 This query is : Resolved
Dear Experts,

I want to know how should one proceed to prosecute Intelligence Bureau or the RAW or the other agency which has allowed the LEAK of the NEWS or the input of the information that our PM is under threat from LTTE or LeT.

The information which should be TOP SECRET for the safety of our Prime Minister has become a general information to be known to every individual on the Street , and also to those who are source of the threat.

This leak of information MUST BE INVESTIGATED . Or is it done intentionally.

I still remember India's First and Second Pokran Tests. 5000 people connected with this test knew it , but even the CIA or KGB could not know it.

Our Secrecy level of infos gathered is pathetic.

These agencies be asked to explain how such important information , which is going to happen in future, has leaked.

May comment on it .

The threat to the PM is being given as a news by the govt agencies. It is not a leakage of info.

In order to prosecute any public servant, one has to gather evidence of malafideness. There is difference between ill motive and deriliction of duty. If the leakage of news is intentional then definitely one can initiate proceeding citing the motive to kill.

You can move before Supreme Court.

Unfortunately, Media is placed at the receiving end even when such leaks are reportedly orchestrated within the "out of bounds" sources. Yes, sensitive matters related to the security of our Prime Minister should be attached foremost secrecy. Media has to be responsible before publishing them in public space.

yes

The publication is not without purpose. It will alert the conspirators that their designs have been exposed. Such revelation will certainly discourage them.

In fact, even after the live coverage of Mumbai siege during the 26/11 attacks which facilitated the handlers of terrorists, there is no proper legislation made to curb publication of such sensitive issues related to security of the Nation.
