i have a question regarding 418 ipc where it is stated that one who cheats should be either lawfully or legally bound toprotect the interest of the the person to whom he cheats.in my case my uncle has sold a land which is in name of my grandmother and my father(joint holder)thereby cheating us.now sir how can i prove that my uncle was lawfully bound to protect interest of my father.is there any laws under which my uncle was lawfully bound to protect my fathers interest in the above case

If the land was under the care of your uncle in absence of your father then your uncle could be held guilty of cheating.

also this is a civil dispute.. you can challenge the said sale rather than invoking i.p.c..
