Gpa holder donor donee

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 24 February 2023 This query is : Resolved
Hello,
My brother purchased house in Karnataka on his name. He wanted to gift me. I am out of country could not come. I gave him GPA hold on my behalf. So donor is my brother and donee also is my brother on my behalf acting as GPA holder. And he as a donor gifted to donee (himself) but he is my GPA holder. Is this legal? What else can be done without me visiting india. Please let me know. Thanks

Yes. You can give GPA to your brother though he is your brother to execute the gift deed. There is no problem. If you have any doubt give the power to other family members.

In my opinion donor himself can't be GPA holdrr of donee, better appoint another person as GPA.

Confusing facts, as to whether the property is donated to himself as you have stated, inter alia, that,
"....And he as a donor gifted to donee (himself) but he is my GPA holder..."
