Patta Transfer

(Querist) 09 May 2010 This query is : Resolved
I bought a property in Chennai in 2008 March, but didn't transfer the Patta at that time.
Is it possible to transfer it now in my name?
If so what is the procedure?
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 09 May 2010
Still this is within limitation. Move an application to Tehsildar along-with relevant sale-deed and GPA of seller for the purpose of transfer of Patta. He shall order its recording to concerned revenue officials.
Khaleel Ahmed (Expert) 09 May 2010
You may apply with the Concerned Thahsildar for mutation along with required documents. Thahasildar will conduct inquiry in this regard and will pass orders for mutation.
Shashikant V. Patil (Expert) 09 May 2010
Whether you have handed over your sale deed to concern Revenue Officer or not ? if not why you have delayed? if Revenue Officer intentionally not mutating then see his superior officer in this regard.
Parveen Kr. Aggarwal (Expert) 09 May 2010
There is no limitation for getting a property mutated. The title passes through title document like sale deed etc. Upon execution and registration of sale deed in your favour, you have become owner of the property. You may get the property mutated in your name at any time. No limitaion period has been prescribed for mutation.

You will have to apply before the Revenue Officer along with copy of your sale deed for getting mutation of the property in your name.

Apply before Tahsildar with the copy of registered Sale Deed and the copies of tax receipts.

It is simple way to get mutation in your name
