RTI APPEAL AND CIC

any time bound provision in RTI act for appeal heard by CIC. if not reply or heard whitin 6 month of fillng of second appeal before CIC

there is no time limit for hearing the appeal by cic.

It is heard that,at present it takes about 18 months for hearing by cic after you file an appeal. such is the state of affairs there.

There is lot of back log at CIC and most of SICs. It depends upon efficiency of IC and his staff at CIC to whom your case is allotted, depending upon public authority against whom you have filed appeal. Some ICs deliver decisions in 4 months, while others are now taking 6 to 18 months. You can track your appeal by visiting www.cic.gov.in.
