In my divorce care interim maintenance order was passed on 9th december 2013 till now i have not paid it,and as i have applied for child custody of my 8 year old son my layer is telling first we have to pay all pending interim mentanance then only we can apply for child custody.Is there any rule like this ??

you have to comply with court orders . if order has been passed for interim maintenance you must pay . on your failure to pay your wife will take execution proceedings against you for attachment of your property . courts dont take kindly to its orders being flouted .
if you dont pay it may affect your chances of getting child custody . invariable child custody is given to mother for such a young child . you will get visitation rights
