Name change

a person has only mentioned his first name in all hte official records including his high school certificate, graduation marksheet, passport PAN card. now he wants to enroll in a foreign university where it iis mandatory to mention the surname or the last name in the online application form. what is the procedure to change the name in all the municipal records so that the last name is included ?

After effecting change in the name by publishing in the Official Gazette you may have to apply to the SSC Board to correct your name in the SSC records and certificate and then in the other certificates etc. Alternatively you may fill the column meant for sir name as NIL in the on line applicartions to be submitted to the foreign universities so that the computer will process the application furher.

Yes Mr NARAYANAN HAS DONE A GOIOD JOB BUT IN WB it is not so mandatory.
