Kindly advise the preventive legal steps that can be taken to prevent the first cousin of punjabi khatri family getting married. Our customs and rituals do not allow this marriage to be solemnised legally. Presently both boy and girl are living in india. The boy has somehow convinced the girl(cousin sister) that this marriage is legally valid in foreign countries US EUROPE. Please further advise if an FIR can be registered against the boy who is presently working in Bangalore.

Yes. Such marriage fall in prohibited category and can be got stopped by way of enforcement of law. Even police assistance can be taken. What is the law in US or Europe in such matters do not work here. India especially Hindu Marriage Act do not permit such marriage with the daughter of real brother of father.

if both of them are marriageable age,can anyone stop them legally?
for that they need not get married according to hindu marriage act. they can do a registered marriage in this case.
in that case how can law forbade that?
in our country, different states have different customs, like in one state one can marry the daughter of his own sister.
in some other place,it is a custom where one marries his uncle's daughter.
in such situations, how does law comes into picture?
