can Sec 177 IPC/182 IPC be imposed for furnishing some false information in a petition lodged before the family court? If not, then what kind of laws are fit to describe this and if proved what are the punishments for this?

Sec 177 & 182 are applicable to criminal matters, these are not applicable to civil nature cases. Whatever contention taken in the petition has to be disproved by the respondent.

Furnishing false information in a petition per se is not an offence. The information so provided is verified to be true to the best of his knowledge. But, if the same information is provided in an affidavit, it becomes an offence and invites provisions of criminallaw.
