As an legal executive you will be a legal expert with the company. The nature of the job depends upon the nature of business company is engaged in. You may be asked to draft or vet agreement, follow the cases of the company in various courts, brief the advocates in court on behalf of company etc.

if you want to practice law you cannot be on the rolls of the company. If you are on retainership you can practice law. Please do think of that.
