Dear Experts,
your advice is required on this matter.
My employer has not updated my wife's name into EISC Card despite my repeated request.
My request is pending for more than 3 months with them.
I am spending for the medical expenses at this time.
Can I claim for the refund for the same from the company.
A staff is demanding Marriage Certificate for the updation of ESIC records though I have already given marriage card and affidavit for the same.
Is marriage certificate compulsary for updating the ESIC records? and can an employer make it compulsary for updating the ESIC records ?.

You have not mentioned what the old entries describe and what updation is required to be inserted. Name of your wife might be same since the day of her joining. Why to change name at this stage?
If the name after marriage is required to be changed then definitely marriage certificate is required to be submitted to the company/employer and companies do their work through its staff, so such documents if demanded are to be submitted to such member of staff of the company.
There is no illegality on the part of the company.

Dear Mr. Makkad,
My question is regarding addition of name in the ESIC Card as family member after my marriage.
Addition of my wife name into the ESIC Card after My marriage is a new addition int to it and not as any kind of change.
