I would like to change my name.. so please guide me the steps to take
To whom I have to apply for name changing
What is the process and expenditure may occur

in mahrashtra name change has to be publised in newspaper then it has to be notified in offical gazette
where are you located? in AP for instance you have to make application to district magaistrate enclosing affidavit , 2passport size photographs , ration card or election card certified by gazette officer , school certifcates , certificate from police station that he has no adverse record .
after inquiry magistrate issues order . it is then publisged in gazette.

You can change your name by publishing the same in the official gazette of your state.
Please note that the names in already issued certificates cannot be changed. You have to attach the copy of the gazette wherever you submit the said certificates.
