it is before evidence by wife or after statement by wife.

You can crossexam. even after evidence of wife.
Shonee Kapoor (Expert) 23 March 2012
After the examination in chief of the wife.

CROSS EXAMINATION can only happen after EXAMINATION. Otherwise what would you cross?

sorry, i question was not clear.

after making statement my wife would provide evidence to support her statement.

I want to understand when i get to cross her, is it after evidence by her or just statement by her.

What is the present stage of your case?
V R SHROFF (Expert) 23 March 2012
It seems ur statement"after statement by wife" means Her Examination in Chief by Affidavit.

So after that Cheif, ur Adv have to cross examine her. If fail or neglect to cross / well, It gets proved, read in evidence as admitted & proved, and considered for Judgement , order & decree.

after the chief examination by the wife the next stage is cross examination of wife by you.
Shonee Kapoor (Expert) 23 March 2012
She would normally get only one chance to present her version on oath and marking her documents as exhibits.

Then you cross-examine her.

If the court allows additional documents thereafter/ additional evidence, you would once again get the right to cross-examine her on that document/ additional evidence.

Is it mandatory to prove the documents placed alongwith the affidavit of Exam in Chief and then only cross?
