I am a tenant under the pagdi system in Mumbai since 1970. The Landlord not mentions the common toilet & urinal & building property. Means not repair the danger building part .
Recant all tenant are one committee appointed. She committee member are one circular In only rent are paid to landlord. Nothing paid any other charges like that water charges, common light charges and common toilet or urinal clean charges. landlord are refused the rent without other charges . Now what I do. I not understand. Plz suggest me. I m ready to pay with my room rent with all others charges.
.I is the only person is ready to pay him but committee is not permitted. Ourselves from this harassment. Like my water conation cut off. Plz suggest me.

When all such amenities are common and others are not ready to pay then what benefit shall arise to you even if you pay.

Your willingness to pay cannot get you any reliefs. Everything depends on the collective decision arrived at among the tenants committee.

If the Committee of the tenants are not willing to pay to the landlord the maintenance charges, then the Committee should take over the responsibility of maintaining and repairing the common facilities by collecting subscriptions from the tenat occupiers. if this is also not done, apart from inconvenience to the occupants, it may lead to the deterioration of the building itself. If the building is already in a dilapidated condition, you may consider approaching the building repairs committee of Mhada at Bandra(E), Mumbai.
