regardin House rent allowance

i am doing service in state goverment organisation and my wife is engage in a private concern.so i want to know that can we both draw HRA or is there any limit.plz let me know.

In which state Government? in most of the state Governments, no employee can draw two house rent allowances. if both the husband and wife they are not eligible to draw 2 HRAs and only one HRA is eligible. if any employee hide the fact that they both drawing two HRAs, if it is noticed in future, that amount will be recovered and in some case punishment will be imposed on such employee besides recovery.

west bengal state government. but my wife is working for a private concern. so she draw hra from her company.the government only pay the hra to me. so is the rule applicable for me.

Broadly both can draw HRA provided service conditions of both allow accordingly.
