Dear Experts,

My brother was sentenced this week for life imprisonment at session court in a murder case. However, we would like to apply for appeal at high court. Pls let me know the followings-

* Time limit for applying appeal at high court after verdit is read.

* documents needed when filing for appeal.

* Is applying appeal is the correct way or we suppose to do something else?

Pls guide. Many thanks.

You should file an appeal in the high court along with an application for suspension of sentence.

30 days, judgment passed by sessions court, the documents relied upon by both parties with the oral statements and the entire case file shall be required by your lawyer while preparing the appeal.
