Hi All,

My wife and their family is living in Pattukkottai for more than 60 years , and we dont have any proof for ownership . Suddenly a few of their relative claim that it is their Land . They brought Police for measuring when we said we are here for more than 60 years , police asked for the property documents.

The same house we have elecity for more than 20 years .

How can we prove , what else i should to

If the property is ancestral or self acquired by your father-in-law then you can collect the documents from Sub-Registrar Office,Revenue Office and local Municipality.Otherwise if the property is under adverse possession then you can submit an application in Revenue office and file a Suit for Declaration and and Injunction in Civil Court claiming adverse possession.

You should tell the police that this is a civil matter which is out of scope of police authorities and they should not intervene thereto and meantime obtain a stay order against your forceful eviction from the civil court.
