My advocate is giving 7 days public notice for any objection to be raised for the purchase of plot. Is 7 days notice sufficient or legally tenable? As the seller is in urgent need of money, he requested the advocate to reduce 15 days to 7 days.

For this sort of notice there is no prescribed time limit for raising objection and hence there is no illegality in such 7 days of notice.

Better to give atleast 15 days. There may be problem in future if you give in a hurry. In litigations involved in Bank, 21 days notice is mandatory. Just follow that.
