Registered marriage

Can registered Marriage be done on 15th August (since it is a holiday) if the social marriage fall on that date? if done afterwards, can the marriage date be still kept as 15th August?

you can get marry on the 15th of august then you can file an application for registration of marriage

Marriage ceremony and registration of marriage both are different from one another. In other words, for registration of marriage, marriage ceremony has to be performed. Marry first, then get the marriage registered with the registrar of marriage with prescribed application alongwith supporting documents like proof of address of both, joint photograph, affidavit of pandit who performed marriage ceremony, invitation card etc.
