i wants list of candidates who take admission in B.ED in M.D.UNIVERSITY in 2011-2012. and also list of candidates who are currently doing J.BT from jammu university.is it possible through RTI ? someone told me that only a resi. of jammu & kasmir can get information through RTI from jammu university.help me please

Every citizen of India is entitled to seek information under RTI Act. The information received to you about J & K is erroneous.

3. Right to information -Subject to the provisions of,the Act,
every person residing in the State shall have the right to information.

sudhirji it means i cannot get information from jammu university through RTI ACT.???

Section 3 of central act is as under :-
3 Subject to the provisions of this Act, all citizens shall have the right to information.
But section 1 says that
1 (1) This Act may be called the Right to Information Act, 2005.
(2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
You have already been explained what does the state act prevelent in J&K says.
