Kindly let me know what are documents one has to furnish to acquire a trade license by a shopkeeper. Is it possible on the part of the landlord to slap a criminal case against a shopkeeper who acquires a trade license without submitting tenancy agreement or acquires a Trade License on the basis of a false agreement.

Yes, if there is any irregularity on obtaining the Trade License then the issuing authority can only take initiate appropriate action against the applicant. The landlord has no say in it. So if any case is filed by the landlord then divulge further information.

Thanks a lot to both of you for your reply. Kindly let me know if a case can be registered u/s 420 of IPC in case the particular shopkeeper has acquired a Trade License on the basis of a forged lease agreement.I guess under such circumstances the issuing authority cannot be held guilty. Please also let me the amount of punishment the convict can get in case he is convicted u/s 420 of IPC.
