electricity act

(Querist) 17 May 2010 This query is : Resolved
a state government undertaking namely the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (ASIDC) has been distributing power to various units by setting up transformers. the bills are paid by the ASIDC to the State Electricity Board while the sub units pay to ASIDC. Now the ASIDC for default in payment has disconnected the connection of a few units. will ASIDC be deemed to a licensee under S14 of the Indian Electricity Act 2003 and is the act of disconnection protected by law??

Any decisions plz post

the state govt. must have delegated such an authority with the ASIDC......try to find out if there is any notification or rules or regulations in this context issued by the State Govt.

As per my view ,Give a representation to ASIDC.If they fail to take action , aggrieved persons can move petition before High Court.
