Consumer query

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 06 January 2024 This query is : Resolved
Respected Experts,
I purchased a TV from a dealer, and unfortunately, within the warranty period, the TV has ceased to function. The challenge I'm facing is that there is no service center for this particular TV brand in my state. The service center, which is located in another state, has advised me to send the TV to them for repairs. However, they've also mentioned that if any damage occurs during transportation, I risk losing the warranty.

Given this situation, I'm hesitant to take the risk of sending the TV to another state. Therefore, I am inquiring whether I can claim warranty services from the dealer in my city.

Before purchasing, did you not inquire whether the service centre is available nearby? Consult a local advocate to file a complaint in the consumer forum.

However, file a case.
Advocate Bhartesh goyal (Expert) 08 January 2024
Both manufacturer and dealer are jointly and severally liable to repair or replace the defective T.V in warranty period . They can can not escape from the liability of warranty by making one and another pretext. File complaint before Consumer Commission.

If you have purchased the TV in your own home town then you catch hold of the dealer who sold this product.
If he is also acting funny then you may file a complaint before the consumer redressal commission within your city for deficiency in service against the dealer and the manufacturer.
