Recovery of Government Debt

Dear LD Friend,

What the Act is called if the Government department want to recovers their arrears or dues from the civilian from its property.

Such as Water taxes or Electricity charges or house tax etc ?

Yes I agree with Vishal Sir. Such dues are recovered in the same manner as land revenue is recovered, in some states.

Water supply company/department, electricity supply company/department, city municipal corporation can respectively recover arrears due under the respective Acts. However, all these are recovered under the procedure followed for recovery of land revenue. Therefore, in all these recoveries, it is mentioned as recovered as 'arrears of land revenue'.
